Great Beginnings

One of our tasks this week for literacy was to look at some ‘Great Beginnings’ in different stories and then write our own. We looked at different types of great beginnings and talked about what makes a great beginning to a story. These are some of our own…

Goldilocks Apology Letters

One of our activities this week for book week was to write an apology letter to the three bears from Goldilocks. Some of the things we had to include in our letters were:

  • The reason why you are writing this letter and
how you feel about what you’ve done
  •  The reason why you went into the three bears’ house
  • A summary of the damage you caused in the three bears’ house
  • The punishment your mother has set for you
  • Suggestions for how you may be able to make
it up to the three bears in the future.

Book Week

This week was book week at our school and our theme this year was fairytales. Today we had a dress up day where we dressed up as different book characters. We also did lots of different fairytale activities in our classroom over the week.

Picture Books

This term we have been working hard on creating our own picture books.

First we looked at lots of picture books in our class and at what features picture books had. We had to make a plan of what our storyline would be and what characters we would have in our book. Some of us chose to create our picture books digitally and some chose to make physical books.

These are some of our digital books that we created.

Endangered Animal Profiles

One of our literacy tasks for this week was to create a profile for an endangered animal. First we watched a video and chose an animal off the video, and then we could choose another animal that was endangered and make another profile if we wanted to. We have put together a collection of some of the profiles we created to share with you.
